Resolver Dudas

Or "Resolving Concerns" for those of you who didn't serve Spanish speaking missions - when you learn thing in Spanish the first time, it's hard to think of them any other way. One of the things you do as a missionary is attempt resolve the concerns of people who are learning about the gospel. Everyone always told me that I would use the skills I learned on the mission throughout my life... they just didn't tell me I'd be using them for potty training...

And he's off!

I'm not sure what's going on with my camera here, but it took me forever to get a shot of this so I'm posting it anyway. Usually he's done walking by the time I get in position. He's not walking on his own yet although he really, really wants to. He'll take a little pivot step and get so excited that he just sits down. But the push cart has been a favorite of late - now if he can just learn to bend his knees...

Labor Day Weekend

So I'm a little slow getting this post up, but we spent Labor Day weekend with the whole fam (almost) in Houston to help my parents celebrate their 40th anniversary. Congrats Mom and Dad! We were hoping to get everyone out there, but my brother Keith and his family got stranded in Mississippi by Hurricane Gustav - darn weather! We missed them, but still had a good time. We were able to get some family portraits taken, we took my parents out to dinner, and made a tasty brunch for them on Sunday. My brother Brent made a wonderful photo montage video of their lives thus far and the kids just always enjoy being at Grandma and Papa's house. In fact, for about a week after we come home from a long weekend there they keep suggesting a return visit:


"We could go to the park this morning and then go to Grandma and Papa's house!"


"After we take Peter to his check-up, we can go to Grandma and Papa's house!"


Needless to say, they have a great time whenever we go and love their grandparents... this last visit had the extra added bonus of aunts and uncles and cousins. Here is Lincoln giving Grandpa a thorough examination...
