Spring Cleaning

I'm thinking I should clean out under my couches more often...

Spring Break Begins

Today started out kind of foggy, so we lazed around for awhile and then packed up the car and headed out to Ikea. The kids were excited to get balloon animals, have their faces painted, decorate cookies, and play for a bit in the kids area.

Of course, free food never hurts either.
I love it because I'm searching for ideas for both my kitchen and a bathroom that need makeovers, hopefully in the next year.

Rainy Day?

After a week of sunshine and 80 degree weather, today it poured and dropped into the 50s.
It caught us a little off guard, but we soon rallied and realized it was a perfect day to use our Groupon at the Hoppin' House!

I've decided this is the best jumping place for the 5 and under crowd.
There aren't too many jumping houses and the ones there are aren't so big that the kids won't climb them on their own. But the best part is...

the foam pit!!
Peter would have stayed here the entire time if it hadn't gotten a little crowded as we got closer to lunch time.

Especially once he realized he could stay on top of the foam by flattening out his body and "swimming" across the top.

Birthday Treats

I'm generally not a big birthday person, but I do love it when my kids make me little gifts because they don't want my day to be forgotten...

This year the best gift was that my birthday fell on Stake Conference so Andrew was able to be home with us for most of the day.He made me a brownie "pizza" while I was at the adult session last night.

And today my kids put on a play/fashion show for me.
It's always an exciting show when you mix a flapper girl, a wizard, and a ninja ladybug!

What do you do with a Drunken Sailor?

For some reason, no place is quite as comfortable as mom's bed when you're feeling sick. These two little boys have been through the wringer this last week.

On Sunday, Eli started losing his balance at the drop of a hat and falling down when he tried to walk. He seriously looked like he'd had too much to drink! After a visit to the doctor and the ER (which included a CT scan), it was determined that he had a double ear infection and sinus infection.

Then Wednesday, Peter woke up with a raging fever and lymph nodes so swollen even I could see them. Turns out he has strep throat.

So, today both of the boys are laying around recuperating and letting the antibiotics do their work.
