Worms!

For Christmas, my sister gave us a pound of worms... sound odd? Well, she also gave us this book to go with it... Worms Eat My Garbage. All so we could learn about the finer points of worm composting before getting our wiggly helpers. The kids were so excited when the worms arrived in the mail the day before my birthday... they thought it was about the coolest birthday present ever! Turns out, there are about 2000 worms in one pound. Here they are checking them out:

It took us another day to get our compost bin ready, but finally it was time to add the worms. In this video, you can see all the wonderful squirminess as the worms try to get out of the light and you can hear the kids talking about what they're going to feed the worms.

Love it! We did that when I was growing up until my mom got tired of the maintenance. But I loved it!

It was great seeing you last weekend! Wasn't that a great conference? I followed my way back over here and wanted to leave the link to our blog. http://unconditionallyours.blogspot.com/
