I was finally able to use some of my "vacation days" this past weekend to meet up with a couple of girlfriends in Sedona - right in the middle of Red Rocks National Forest.
We had an amazing time hiking the beautiful canyons, eating out without kids, shopping, listening to conference, cooking together, and just relaxing in general.
We were a couple of weeks too early to witness the impressive color change, but were given a fun preview as we hiked into the canyons.
Our favorite hike wound up the West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon and then took you over the slick rock for an overhead view of the trail. Stunning!
And our magic memory of the trip was the crazy vegan restaurant we ended up in on our last afternoon there... I think we all discovered that we are nowhere near ready to become vegan and we guaranteed that Melinda would be a carnivore for life :)
