Dallas and Waco

Andrew had a meeting in Dallas on Monday - which makes logistics a bit sticky for a one car family. After much discussion, we decided to take the kids out of school for the day and make it a family trip. While Andrew was in his meetings, the kids and I took a little field trip to the Dallas Nature & Science Museum where we...

learned to milk a cow,

dug for dinosaur bones,

rode the tractor at the farm,

and said hello to Triceratops!

By then it was time for lunch so we went back to pick up Andrew and had a little picnic before heading home. We also had to make a little detour on the way - since the route from Dallas to Austin passes right through Waco, we couldn't pass up a chance to visit one of our favorite zoos - the Cameron Park Zoo!

Sliding with the otters

Checking out the tepees and bison

Swinging like the orangutangs

We were having so much fun that we actually stayed past closing time!
Finally, it was time to head for home after a very busy day!
